Wages Protection System (WPS)

The Wages Protection System (WPS) in Qatar is an electronic salary transfer monitoring framework designed to ensure that private-sector workers receive their wages accurately and on time.Developed by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) in coordination with the Ministry of Labour (MOL).

How It Works

Registration
All private-sector companies registered with the Ministry of Labour must enroll in the WPS through a locally licensed commercial bank in Qatar.

The SIF File:
Every month, employers prepare a specialized, structured payroll file called the Salary Information File (SIF) .

Electronic Disbursement
The employer uploads this file through their corporate banking portal.

Government Monitoring
The data from the SIF file is shared with a centralized database managed by the Ministry of Labour.
